From Pune you can get a train for Delhi and from Delhi to Manali you can reach by Volvo or bus.
And by Air get a plain from Mumbai and lend at Delhi than adopt the bus route from Delhi to Manali.!

If you have plan to visit either of the hill station of Himachal Pradesh, there is train service for you from Pune to New Delhi at Delhi you will get another train for Chandigarh.
From Chandigarh onward journey to Manali will have to be decided by road transport or by air transport up to Bhuntar airport and than Bhuntar Airport to Manali taxi will be utilized.@

Pune is a rich and metropolitan city of Maharashtra.
Pune to Manali distance is about 2000 km.
Goa express and Nizamuddin Link express runs regularly from Pune to Chandigarh.
Chandigarh and Shimla also connected as well as by rail lines but not directly. You will have change train from Kalka station.
First Chandigarh to Kalka and than after Kalka to Shimla.
Shimla to Manali bus route is the best for transportation.

Pune is a well developed and major city of Maharashtra state.
T.No. 11077 JHELUM Express depart regularly from Pune to Delhi at 5:20 pm and arrival at Delhi next day 8:45pm.
From Delhi you can get T. No. 12311 Hawda-Kalka Mail which is depart regularly from Delhi to Kalka at 9:15pm and arrival at Kalka at 4:30am.
At Kalka the onward journey will be proceed by Toy train.
In the morning 6:00am you can get toy train Kalka to Shimla.
At Shimla you can get any deluxe HRTC/HRTDC or Private bus to Manali.

The destination of Manali from Mumbai is not near a rail head.
From Pathankot-Dalhousie is near and from there 8-10 hrs to manali.
From Chandigarh, Shimla takes 5 hours and manali takes approx 10 hours drive.
From Delhi about 12-14 hours simla, and from there approx14 hours manali.
So you should go to Shimla and then to Manali.

It's a first class category train.
It take approx 21-22 hours for Delhi travel.
